Another Fresh Re-start
The flow of time has changed the form of my diary, from descriptive passages
back in the last century to the most recent set of photo diaries, and has now undergone another 'metamorphosis'
into a blog.
This is a recording of memories known as 'fragments of time'. Futher fragments will appear

Broke a corner off the lower front tooth yesterday whilst having dinner.
This left behind a sharp tooth edge that keeps scraping the tip of the
tongue resulting with a sore. Better get sorted with it by the dentist
or I will keep eating with a painful tongue. Wonder when I can get more
careful though.
Went to vote today. The staff at the station simply thought I went to the wrong place
and said "hey, you are not allowed in, kid". Was it the lighting or her eyesight?
I surely don't look that young I suppose. It was funny though.
Nothing much more to record.... Birthday after 2 days, and it will be the
very first birthday that requires work. I used to give myself a holiday leave during the
past few years but this year I run out of leaves after the exam in Ireland in September,
hence good luck to myself.

The meaning of a birthday....

To me, birthdays are just like a normal day like others. It has nothing that
worths the celebration since I was a kid. I am not used to receive presents either since
sometimes it felt odd to receive "things" from others. Maybe I have
learnt to be dependent since long ago, especially during the years away from home in England.
To my mother, my birthday would mean an eternal promise made to her. Every year, we would have
chestnut cake/tart during my birthday. It is my mother's favourite and every year it would be
purchased by father as a promise he made for all the hardships she went through that very day
many years ago to show his care for her.
It is nice that people still believe in promises. I am not sure if I ever would be as fortunate
a person like my parents but I do appreciate their happiness.

在一個網頁上看到的幾句，頓覺發人心省。 此句源於一篇均關於災難後描寫人心態的
文章，但也和日常工作的情景完全符合。至於更具體的解釋就不方便多說了。
"同情心（compassion）是對弱者的同情與憐憫，不過當被安頓的災民反成了暴民，
或政治介入人道行為時，則會有同情心疲乏（compassion fatigue）的發生。"
下班後，全部的事也不願多想了。

Recently I had been out looking around at updated items in shops but nothing new could fulfill my craves. The stock of clothes in Hong Kong basically has not the right quality that attracts my attention. I think I would need to get new stuff in Tokyo soon, I definitely need that.
It has so long been since the last visit to the blue label shop. Even just a glimpse of a small collection through the official page already fascinates me.
Why can't I just simply be living in Tokyo.... it may be better and happier if so.

The characters of this game fight with elemental powers and the weapons are either solar (sun) or lunar-powered (moon). The "technology" of the world inside this game also allows the concept of machine driven weather control in order to optimise the best atmosphere for the fighting environment too. Everything is weird but very interesting.
Overall, this game is a very playable one. The only drawback would be the absence of the english version at this moment (Apparently Konami will release the english version in Feb 2007 and the game will be known as "Lunar Knights DS").

The Devil Wears Prada

Hoping to work her way to the The New Yorker or Vanity Fair, Andrea "Andy" Sachs, fresh out of college, lands a plum magazine job: personal assistant to Miranda, who dominates the fashion world from her perch atop Runway magazine. She puts up with the eccentric and humiliating requests of her boss because, she is told, if she lasts a year in the position she will get her pick of other jobs, perhaps even the journalistic position she truly craves.
Gradually, though, Andrea adjusts to the position and its many perks, including free designer clothing and other choice accessories. She also comes to prize chance encounters with hot young writer Christian, who earns her eternal gratitude when he helps her with one of her more impossible assignments (The unpublished "Harry Potter Book Seven"). However, her family and, especially, friends are feeling neglected. Ultimately Andrea realizes she must make a choice between them and her job lest she become more like the woman she despises working for.
The highlight lines:
- "Andy, be serious. You are not trying. You are whining."
- "She (Miranda) is just doing her job."
In reality, there is a lot of "she-is-just-doing-her-job" type of bosses too. No names mentioned.
